LETTER FROM THE CHAIRMAN

Basque Food Cluster is an organisation created by and for companies belonging to the Basque food value chain. It is a private and non-profit organisation, operating for more than 10 years and based on the values of trust, collaboration, knowledge and social responsibility. These values are making us the leader in our sector in the Basque Country, where innovation and the generation of added value, together with a focus on the market and consumers, are becoming the main tools to improve the business competitiveness of our members.

We promote business collaboration, offering meeting spaces and zooming in on strategic challenges to generate value projects. All of this through a team of professionals who work following a model of organisational excellence, which seeks continuous improvement, taking European standards in the management of clusters as its benchmark.

Being a member of the Basque Network for Science, Technology and Innovation (Red Vasca de Ciencia Tecnología e Innovación de Euskadi) also allows us to strengthen another of the pillars of competitiveness in our sector, which is promoting technological and non-technological innovation. In addition attracting and developing talent, this covers some of the most important challenges to meet over the coming years.

In short, at Basque Food Cluster we are here to help and build a strong and organised food sector on a par with the best economic sectors in the Basque Country.

The general assembly is the highest representative body of BASQUE FOOD CLUSTER

GENERAL ASAMBLY

Comprising all the member companies, the Assembly reflects the will of the organisation through majority vote. Among its powers are the examination and approval of the annual accounts and budgets, the election of the people who sit on the Board of Directors, the approval of the management and, in general, the proposing, modifying and repealing of any fundamental activity for the operation and future of the Association.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The people who sit on the Board are democratically elected by all the member companies to represent them in the body that oversees the proper functioning of the association, monitoring and controlling the activities carried out and ensuring compliance with the objectives set out in the Strategic Plan and the annual Management Plan.
The people sitting on the board of directors ensure the excellent management of the organisation.
